John Hayner, Chief Operating Officer

John Hayner joined Perspectives as its first Chief Operating Officer at the beginning of its replication efforts in the summer of 2005.  He had just completed the Masters Degree program in Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago, following almost thirty years of business experience, including executive positions with two Chicago area manufacturing and publishing companies.  Earlier education included a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from DePaul University.

For the past fifteen years, he had combined extensive non-profit board and volunteer experience with the founding and operation of a consulting firm in employment services.  John believed that Urban Education was the among the highest impact non-profit work that the Chicago area had to offer, and saw Perspectives as the ideal platform on which to apply his business knowledge, entrepreneurial background, and education.
