Make a difference in urban education by working at Perspectives Charter Schools.  Founded in 1997 by two Chicago Public School teachers who believe that education is the great equalizer, Perspectives has a motto of College for Certain and is dedicated to providing a high-quality public school education for grades six through 12 in underserved Chicago communities. Currently, we educat 2,300 students and employ 300 professionals, including 163 education staff.

The Perspectives' difference is our commitment to prepare every student for success in college and in life.  A key aspect of our core curriculum is teaching the principles of A Disciplined Life® in every classroom.

Over 15 years educating Chicago youth, Perspectives has built an impressive track record of accelerating student growth, significantly closing the achievement gap created by the disparity in urban school funding, community culture and poverty. In June 2010, we celebrated our first high school graduations at our Auburn Gresham campus, having effectively doubled the graduation rate for neighborhood students in just four years time. Of our 2011 high school seniors, 97 percent have been accepted to college. Our goal over the next two years is to close the achievement gap by ensuring that student achievement growth accelerates to where every student meets the ACT Educational Services ACT benchmark score of 20 – a nationally accepted standard as the achievement level necessary for a student to attain to succeed in college.

Why Teach at Perspectives?

Be part of a team of like-minded individuals dedicated to ensuring that all students succeed

Talented teachers who care about students are the foundation of our success at Perspectives Charter Schools. Our diverse staff is committed to leveraging the principles of A Disciplined Life® and academic rigor to prepare all students for college and life.

Work with students and parents who are invested in their education

Parents and students meet with our teachers before the school year even begins to set goals for the year. And 85 percent of parents attend parent-teacher conferences twice a year.

Our unique and highly effective urban education model starts with students in sixth grade, allowing our teachers to effectively improve student growth both academically and socially. This also allows us time to build buy-in for College for Certain and the school culture of A Disciplined Life®.

Have the support and strategic professional development you need to be successful

Teachers begin preparing for the school year three weeks prior to the first day. All content teams are led by experienced "Instructional Leaders," who encourage and guide every teacher's growth in methods of teaching as well as content, throughout the year.

If you are interested in making a difference, building futures and developing potential, consider a career with Perspectives Charter Schools.
